Arizona Counter-Recruitment Coalition

Welcome to our website.

The Arizona Counter-Recruitment Coalition (AZCRC) is a group of students, teachers, parents, veterans, and workers from the Phoenix metro area who provide information and perspectives to counter-balance the one-sidedness of military recruiters. We advocate for a society that is truly secure through the principles of cooperation, conflict resolution, and sustainability, to replace the current order of exploitation, conquest, and domination. We actively seek to ally with other groups and individuals, to advance our shared goals by working together.

Please read our mission statement.

You can get involved. Meeting times: We meet this Monday, August 11th, 2008 @ 2:45pm at a local Phoenix high school.
Contact CRC on Myspace.com/azcrc or email azcrc@riseup.net We welcome everyone who is interested in learning more about counter-recruitment, as well as those who are motivated to participate with this project.

You can print fliers and pass them out at your local school too!

This guide is filled with great information on the No Child Left Behind Act, Opt-Out policies, military recruitment practices, and great ideas for public actions that will really get people in your community interested in our message.

3. Contact your school district and ask them to send a letter to students and parents explaining their right to refuse to release personal data to the military recruiters and include an opt-out form.

4. If you are planning an action, please share it with the rest of us! Write to azcrc@riseup.net to describe the who, what, when, where, and how of your particular action plan. These descriptions will then be shared on the arizonacrc.org website and at our next meeting.

Adopt a High School: Calling all parents, students, and teachers

If you would like to donate some of your time to CRC (Counter-Recruitment Coalition) but can't make it to the meetings or regular actions you can now adopt a high school. This simply entails taking on the responsibility of insuring that the counselor's/career office at your high school of choice remains stocked with CRC literature. We will provide you with all of the literature, please email us to discuss the details. We will need to know how, where, and when you would like to pick up the literature as well as which high school you would like to stock. We already have access to some of the high schools in the valley and just need volunteers to make copies and stock the literature racks. Other high school offices in the valley have yet to see our literature. If you have a connection or would like to make a connection to a high school that has never been stocked with literature, let's talk!
The high schools which we already have permission to place our flyers are: Marcos de Niza, McClintock, Phoenix College, and Carl Hayden. If interested, you can find our email address on the left navigation bar under "contact us".

You can now donate to Arizona Counter-Recruitment Coalition. Please click on "Donate" in the menu to the left.

Check out our new packet "AZ Counter-Recruitment Coalition: A Tool For Counter-Recruiting," now available in a pdf file. You can use it to start or improve your own counter-recruiting. Includes information on local schools and other useful information.

We are also regularly fliering at schools and events. Read more...
